Description
Join us for this month's Legislative Breakfast "Battling the Skills Gap" on Wednesday, October 1st from 7:30am - 9:00am at the Knights Event Center (1760 East 4th Avenue, Shakopee).
Five years after the official end of the Great Recession, Minnesota finds itself switching gears. The state has recovered all jobs lost plus more and unemployment rates are low across the state. Yet, with an ever-tightening labor market, the debate over the skills gap continues to vex both employers and job-seekers. Our first speaker, Tim O'Neill, Regional Analyst for DEED, will cover recent developments in the labor market, current hiring difficulties and recommendations for both employers and job-seekers.
Our second speaker, Seth Berg, Academic Dean at Rasmussen College, will dive into changes and best practices for higher education as well as the power of effective communication. According to a recent study conducted by Millennial Branding, a whopping 98% of hiring managers surveyed stated that effective communication skills are essential to landing a job in an increasingly competitive landscape.
Employers and job-seekers, don't miss out on this opportunity to gain insight on how to overcome the hiring difficulties you may be facing!
Investment: $25 per person (member discount) or $35 per person (regular rate), includes breakfast
