Country music superstar Kenny Rogers will take the Mystic Showroom stage at 8 p.m. Saturday, November 8.
Rogers began his career with rockabilly group The Scholars, and found fame in the 1960s with Kenny Rogers and The First Edition, charting hits including “Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In)” and “Ruby, Don’t’ Take Your Love to Town.” Since launching a solo career in 1976, he has released a string of No. 1 singles destined to become country classics including “Lucille,” “The Gambler,” “Lady,” “Coward of the County” and “Islands in the Stream,” a duet with Dolly Parton.
Rogers has won many of the top awards in the music industry, including three Grammy Awards, 18 American Music Awards, 11 People’s Choice Awards, eight Academy of Country Music Awards and five Country Music Association Awards. He is the RIAA’s eighth-best-selling male artist of all time with one Diamond, 19 Platinum, and 31 Gold albums, and total sales of more than 120 million albums worldwide. Rogers’ latest album, You Can’t Make Old Friends, was his 22nd Top 10 country album. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2013.
